“Five-year-old turkey Florence sleeps soundly
this Thanksgiving, knowing she lives a peaceful life at
Karen Davis' Poultry Sanctuary in Machipongo. Florence was
rescued from the Potomac Poultry Company near Baltimore
in January 2000 and, unlike most genetically-modified white
turkeys, will live happily ever after for many Thanksgivings
to come.” Eastern Shore Post, Nov. 26, 2003
