Protest The Ithaca Sciencenter's Egg Drop Contest

    WHEN: Sunday, April 9, 2000, 10:00 AM

WHERE: The Commons, in downtown Ithaca, NY

WHY: The Egg Drop contest is an annual educational family event in which children design containers used to drop eggs from a specific height. The child who designs a container that successfully protects the egg is the winner. After practicing to make a container and participating in the event itself, participants will use hundreds of eggs that came primarily from factory farms.

Our table will be called "Where Do Eggs Come From?" We will be displaying a battery cage and offering free literature, recipes, and egg-free treats to educate the public about the cruelty of egg production on both factory and free-range farms.
