UNITED POULTRY CONCERNS PROTEST TOMORROW AT FOIE GRAS SEMINAR IN WASHINGTON DC
Wine Tasting Association Targeted for Protest
    Omni Shoreham Hotel
2500 Calvert Street, NW, Washington DC
    Wednesday October 18th 6:30 - 7:30 PM
Metro: Woodley Park(Red Line) and go South on Connecticut Ave. 1 block and turn right on Calvert Street.

Mark Phillips of the Wine Tasting Association has repeatedly been urged to cancel the Foie Gras Seminar he is sponsoring. He continues to maintain that force feeding is humane.

The slaughter to which these poor birds are subjected is itself horrific, and the life they are forced to live, apart from their pitiful liver abuse, is not suited to the needs of ducks and geese and is anything but humane.

This past Sunday, UPC activists arrived at the WTA HQ, which is also the home of Mark Phillips and began chanting slogans such as:

"MARK PHILLIPS! SHAME SHAME SHAME! SAYING FOIE GRAS IS HUMANE!"
"MARK PHILLIPS! READY TO DINE: DEAD DUCK LIVERS AND BOTTLES OF WINE!"

This morning, Mark Phillips awoke to find in front of his house a large stuffed animal(Big Bird) with a metal pipe shoved down it's throat connected by a hose to a large can of corn.

Please Join Us in protesting this cruel and disgraceful seminar.
