Urge the New Hampshire SPCA NOT to Serve Dead Animals at Its Auction for the Animals Fundraiser on Wednesday November 15 th

Menu Options: Parisienne Pasta * Roasted Chicken * Baked Alaskan Salmon

NHSPCA: "Our vision is a world in which every animal is well-cared for and loved."
NHSPCA: " Our mission is bringing animals and people together."

The NHSPCA is selling $50-a-plate dinners & holding an auction to raise money for its shelter. Two of the three menu options are slaughtered animals - just like last year.

Urge the NHSPCA to serve only animal-free meals in keeping with its mission, vision, and work for animals: " Every year over 3000 cats, dogs, rabbits . . . and chickens . . . find warm shelter, a caring hand, and eventually a new home at the NHSPCA."

Dear Ms. Dennison:

I am writing to you on behalf of United Poultry Concerns to request that you cancel your dinner option of slaughtered chickens and choose a meal option that is consistent with your organization's Vision of "a World in Which Every Animal is Well-Cared For and Loved."

If your mission is to prevent cruelty to animals and your vision is of a world in which every animal is well-cared for and loved, there can be no justification for inflicting preventable cruelty on chickens. With so many wonderful vegan meal options and cookbooks that are now readily available, why would the New Hampshire SPCA choose to abuse and kill animals to raise money?

We request that the New Hampshire SPCA show as much compassion to the suffering chickens you have never met as to the suffering chickens to whom you give "warm shelter," and "a caring hand." There is no difference among these chickens.

I am enclosing our Poultry Slaughter Report , our Fall issue of our quarterly newsletter PoultryPress , our Chickens brochure, and the booklet Food for Thought: Adopting an Animal Friendly Menu for Your Shelter's Events published by Animal Place. May we count on the New Hampshire SPCA to adopt a compassionate meal plan in keeping with its vision and mission? I hope so.

I look forward to a response from you. Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,

Karen Davis, PhD
President
