Thank Howard Stern for Sticking Up for Chickens!

Email: sternshow@howardstern.com

According to AR-News, this morning on the Howard Stern Show (radio station WXRK 92.3 FM), they discussed the KFC demo that was held in New York City this morning. Howard said how disturbing the information was about the way KFC treats its chickens. He cited the intense overcrowding, causing chickens to peck each other to death. He talked about the debeaking that prevents chickens from eating normally. He talked about the antibiotics that make chickens grow abnormally fast and huge, and how unhealthy that is.

Stern said that PETA’s complaint against KFC is that the chickens raised for the company should have a good life before they are slaughtered, which they clearly do not have in Stern’s opinion. His producer said he didn’t believe the chickens are treated badly, but Stern said he did believe it. Robin Quivers, Stern’s sidekick, also noted how cruel foie gras production is.

Howard Stern has a very popular program. He has condemned cockfighting, and he had UPC President Karen Davis on his radio show on April 10, 2002. Please thank Howard Stern for discussing the KFC-cruelty issue fairly and compassionately on the air, and for helping to make chickens real to people instead of just gray blobs on a plate. Email your thanks to sternshow@howardstern.com
