Investigations Show Business as Usual

Some years ago I (Karen Davis of United Poultry Concerns) heard a poultry researcher in Canada state that chickens and turkeys in U.S. food production facilities are treated much worse than they are in Canada. Two recent investigations by Mercy For Animals Canada dispel that fantasy. Chickens and turkeys are treated exactly the same in both countries– with complete cruelty. When asked how the baby chicks die at the Maple Leaf hatchery, an employee laughs and says, “They boil! I have no sympathy for them anymore.”
